U.S. Rep. Nita Lowey will hold small business assistance workshops in Westchester and Rockland counties next week as part of ongoing efforts to educate business owners about the resources at their disposal.
The workshops will be held Aug. 16. The first will take place at Westchester Community College in Valhalla at 10 a.m., and the second will be held at the Clarkstown town hall at 1 p.m.
The workshops will provide the opportunity for small business owners to connect with representatives of the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) and of state and regional economic development corporations, as well as bank business loan officers.
“In today”™s struggling economy, it is vital that small business owners are given the resources they need to create jobs and succeed,” Lowey, a Harrison Democrat, said in a statement.
Admission to the workshops is free, but advanced registration is required. Those looking to attend may register by calling Lowey”™s office at 914-428-1707 or 845-639-3485 or by emailing Stephen.papas@mail.house.gov.
