Westchester County”™s second annual Hispanic Business Summit will be from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday in the Gateway Center Atrium on the Westchester Community College campus in Valhalla.
Titled “Crossroads to Customers, Capital and Contracts,” the free conference is presented by Westchester County Executive Robert P. Astorino and Latin Business Today, a national online publication based in Croton-on-Hudson. It will feature a panel discussion moderated by Tony Jimenez, president and CEO of MicroTech, a Washington, D.C.-based technology company and a Latin Business Today advisory board member.
Panelists are Carlos Fonseca, vice president for global knowledge and insights at Coca Cola Co.; Carola Bracco, CEO of Neighbors Link, a Mount Kisco nonprofit serving immigrant residents; White Plains attorney Steven L. Alfasi, and William Mooney III, director of the Westchester County Office of Economic Development.
The panel will discuss how to reach customers and increase business through targeted marketing and innovative solutions; how to gain access to capital through loans and financing programs, and how to navigate the process of securing government contracts. Business owners also can attend workshops and network with public agencies and private companies on starting or growing their businesses.
Astorino said approximately 10 percent of all Westchester businesses are owned by Hispanics, “and that number continues to grow. As a result, we are working hard to create environments that bring business owners together to learn about every available tool that can help start or grow their enterprise.”
County officials said registration is encouraged as seating is limited. To register, visit www.LatinBusinessToday.com/success.
