If a real estate mogul can become president, why can”™t a funeral parlor manager become first selectman of Trumbull?
Michael F. Redgate, funeral director at Redgate-Hennessy Funeral Directors, has announced his candidacy for the first selectman”™s post, running without party affiliation. Redgate, who is also past president of the Trumbull Rotary Club and a former chairman of the board for the Lakewood Trumbull YMCA, used a Facebook post to highlight his plans to use the first selectman”™s office for strengthening the Trumbull community.
“Our focus will be on why we moved here, why we”™ve stayed here, and how we can encourage new families to do the same,” Redgate said. “We will take care of the needs of the town followed by our wants; improving our way of life and the value of our homes with a long-term plan. We will listen to all voices in our community. We can and we will give equal priority to the concerns of families with young children, empty nesters, seniors, and multigenerational families.”
Redgate, whose announcement did not mention his funeral business, seeks to replace Tim Herbst, who is seeking the 2018 Republican nomination for governor.
