Westchester County has again been named one of the top 10 digital counties in the U.S. by the Center for Digital Government and the National Association of Counties, County Executive Robert P. Astorino announced Wednesday.
This is the eighth year that the county has been recognized for its exemplary use of technology to improve services and efficiency.
Astorino credited John McCaffrey, commissioner of the county”™s information technology department, and his staff for the achievement. “Technology is changing all the time and they have done everything to stay on top of these changes,” he said in a press release.
The 2013 Digital Counties Survey evaluated online service delivery, infrastructure, architecture and governance models. Westchester tied for sixth place in the survey.
“Much of our work is behind the scenes, but it plays a very important role in the Westchester community,” McCaffrey said in the press release.
