Connecticut Attorney General George Jepsen has announced that he will not be running for governor next year.
Jepsen, a Democrat who was elected to his position in 2010 and re-elected four years later, used an interview with WPLR-FM”™s “Chaz and AJ in the Morning,” to unveil his decision. He later issued a statement to CTNewsJunkie.com that he discussed a potential gubernatorial campaign with his family before deciding against it. “I fear that I would be doing a disservice to the office and to my constituents if I were to divert my focus,” Jepsen said.
However, Jepsen did not commit to running for re-election, adding that he would make that decision soon.
