Yum China Holdings Inc. (NYSE: YUMC) announced the opening of Pizza Hut’s 3,000th store in China, located in Qinhuangdao, a coastal city in Hebei province.
The Pizza Hut brand has been in China for 33 years and had more than 135 million members as of the end of the first quarter of this year. During the first quarter, digital orders accounted for approximately 91% of company sales, up from 31% in pre-pandemic 2019.
“The opening of Pizza Hut 3,000th store is more than a landmark moment for store expansion,” said Joey Wat, CEO of Yum China. “It demonstrates Pizza Hut’s strength as a ‘pizza expert’ and reaffirms our commitment to growing the brand in China.
