McDonald’s (NYSE:MCD) has announced “small but tasty improvements” to the fast-food chain”™s Big Mac, McDouble burger, Cheeseburger, Double Cheeseburger and Hamburger.
According to the company, the upgraded additions to its menu staples include “softer, pillowy buns that are freshly toasted to a golden brown; perfectly melted cheese that will make you want to savor every last bit off the wrapper; juicier, caramelized flavor from adding white onions to the patties while they’re still on the grill” plus “more tangy sweetness” in the Big Mac special sauce.
The company introduced the changes to the recipes in Australia, Canada and Belgium and has begun to introduce the updated offerings in several West Coast markets, with a nationwide rollout slated for next year.
Chef Chad Schafer, senior director of culinary innovation at McDonald’s USA, declared, “We found that small changes, like tweaking our process to get hotter, meltier cheese and adjusting our grill settings for a better sear, added up to a big difference in making our burgers more flavorful than ever.”
