Gov. Dannel P. Malloy visited Jones Winery in Shelton on Thursday to highlight the 2017 edition of the annual Passport to Connecticut Farm Wineries program.
“This is a great time of year to visit a vineyard, and Connecticut is a great destination for people looking to explore quality, farm wineries,” Malloy said. “We have more than three dozen vineyards that produce a number of high-quality wines. Our state”™s Passport to Connecticut Farm Wineries program offers folks a perfect opportunity to explore the diversity that each of our unique farm wineries have to offer.”
In this year”™s program, individuals are issued a special booklet designed to resemble a passport, which can be stamped during a visit to Connecticut”™s 37 farm wineries. Anyone whose booklet is stamped by at least 16 wineries is eligible to enter a contest that includes prizes, including a two-week trip to Spain. The program will be operated through Nov. 5 and the prize drawing will be held Dec. 7.
