Connecticut”™s House of Representatives voted overwhelmingly in favor of a bill that would allow for the installation of self-serve alcohol machines at permitted venues.
The bill, which passed by a 129-19 majority, will allow businesses with state liquor permits to install automated machines that dispense up to 32 ounces of beer and 10 ounces of wine. The machines can only be used by individuals who are at least 21 years old and are willing to have their verified identification entered in an electronic database before receiving a payment card to access the machine.
The bill, which was introduced by Democratic Rep. David Arconti of Danbury, will now go on to the Senate for consideration.
