Bridgeport”™s newest restaurant, Birdman Juke Joint, opened this week at 2931 Fairfield Ave. in the city’s Black Rock neighborhood.
The new eatery is helmed by Chris Scott, a contestant on the 15th season of “Top Chef” who previously ran the Brooklyn restaurants Butterfunk Kitchen and Sumner”™s Luncheonette, which specialized in Southern-style soul food. Earlier this year, Scott tested this culinary concept with a pop-up restaurant in West Hartford.
Birdman Juke Joint”™s menu includes a selection of buttermilk fried and moonshine smoked chicken, along with catfish, ribs and seitan plus salads made from southern vegetables and appetizers including boiled peanuts and pork cracklins. The restaurant also offers catering.
Birdman Juke Joint is based in the former site of Naughty Water Whiskey Bar and Grille.
