Greenwich-based XPO Logistics Inc. recently announced it acquired UX Specialized Logistics, a provider of last-mile logistics services for retail chains and e-commerce companies, for $59 million.
The acquisition expands the transportation logistics company’s network for heavy goods home delivery and adds more density to its e-commerce logistics footprint, said Bradley Jacobs, chairman and chief executive officer of XPO Logistics, in a statement.
“UX has demonstrated strong organic growth based on long-term relationships with blue chip retailers who can use a wide range of our services,” Jacobs said.
The purchase price excludes working capital adjustments with no assumption of debt. UX had revenue of $113.2 million in 2014, according to an XPO press release.
UX is a provider of last-mile logistics, which refers to the the last leg of transit between a delivery center and destination.
