Xerox”™s flirtation with acquiring or merging with Chicago-based commercial printing firm RR Donnelley & Sons Co. is over, with Xerox reportedly ending discussions on July 14.
Norwalk-based Xerox is in the midst of splitting itself into two companies later this year: Conduent, which will focus on business process outsourcing (BPO) services, and Xerox itself, which will focus on document technology. Donnelley, headquartered in Chicago, had previously announced its plans to split into three different companies.
