WESTPORT – The Planning and Zoning Commission will hold three virtual hearings Monday, Feb. 3 on applications for allowing existing buildings to be reused for affordable multi-family housing, installing an extension to the sewer system, and expanding the use of lighted athletic fields.
The hearings will start remotely at 6 p.m. via Zoom, according to Planning & Zoning Deputy Director Amanda Trianovich.
Kousidis Engineering, on behalf of First Selectwoman Jennifer Tooker, is seeking a report from the commission to install a main line extension of the public sanitary sewer system to service 25 Ellery Lane.
Also on the public hearing agenda is an amendment of the zoning regulations on Dedicated Open Space and Recreation District (DOSRD), to permit adaptive re-use of existing buildings to multifamily use in which 100% will be affordable, as defined in state statute 8-30g.
There will be a hearing on an amendment to expand the use of lighted athletic fields on town-owned school properties to accommodate winter activities, responding to warmer temperatures and reduced daylight hours.
The public hearings will be livestreamed on the town’s website at www.westportct.gov, and/or will be accessible on Optimum Government Access Channel 79, subject to availability. The remote meeting link is published on the meeting agenda available on the town’s website on the “Meeting List and Calendar” web page.
Written comments may be submitted and should be sent to PandZ@westportct.gov by noon on the day of the meeting if intended to be distributed for consideration by members of the Planning and Zoning Commission. Written comments received after the deadline will be added to the record but not be distributed until the next business day.
Meeting materials are available on the Planning and Zoning Department web page at “P&Z Pending Applications & Recent Approvals.”
