The Stamford-based Women”™s Business Development Council will shine a light on intellectual property issues Wednesday, Feb. 26, 6-8 p.m.at the Greater Valley Chamber of Commerce, 10 Progress Drive, Shelton.
Intellectual property issues permeate all businesses, the WBDC says, including company names and logos, product ideas, customer lists, product design and packaging ”“ even your super- secret chocolate chip cookie recipe; “these are what make your company what it is.”
“However,” the WBDC says, “start-up businesses and entrepreneurs often fail to take the basic steps needed to protect core, and most valuable assets.”
During the one-session course, attendees will learn the basics about intellectual property rights including patents, trademarks, copyrights and trade secrets, and avoiding potential pitfalls.
Preregistration is required, but there is no charge. For more information, call (203) 353-1750 or logon to the WBDC website.
