Greenwich-based insurance holding company W.R. Berkley Corp. announced this week the combination of its U.S. broker market reinsurance units, Berkley Re America and Facultative ReSources, into a single operating unit that will trade under the Berkley Re America name.
Berkley Re America is a specialty treaty reinsurance writer and Faculative ReSources is a casualty, professional liability and property faculative underwriter. The combined Berkley Re America will be a single market for reinsurance brokers to address client needs.
Jonathan A. Schriber, Berkley Re America executive vice president and chief administrative officer, was named chief underwriting officer of the Reinsurance ”“ Global segment and Joseph L. Sullivan, the president of Faculative ReSources, was named president of Berkley Re America.
“We are pleased to announce these organizational changes within the reinsurance segment in response to a marketplace where clients and brokers are placing business on a more holistic basis,” William R. Berkley, chairman and CEO of W.R. Berkley Corp., said in a statement.
W.R. Berkley Corp. was founded in 1967.
