United Way of Coastal and Western Connecticut has started its Women United (WU) initiative designed to empower women and families through philanthropy, advocacy, and volunteerism.
It is designed to be a network of passionate, community-minded individuals dedicated to advancing the health, education, and financial stability of women, children, and families in coastal and western Connecticut.
The WU initiative will hold its first event 5:30 p.m.-7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 28 at the Westport Library at 20 Jesup Road that will feature Sheri West, a former Fortune 500 executive, founder and CEO of LiveGirl and author of “Confidence Unleased: 10 Kickass Strategies to Grow as a Leader.”
She will be joined by Kate Hampford Donahue, CEO of Hampford Research; Carmen Hughes, director of DEI for the City of Stamford; and Isabel Almeida, president & CEO, United Way of Coastal and Western Connecticut.
West will also sign books after the discussion.
