The new Towers Watson & Co. is based in New York City, following the merger of Stamford-based Towers Perrin Forster & Crosby Inc. with Watson Wyatt Worldwide Inc.
Both companies consult on human resources, with Towers Perrin also having run Tillinghast, which performs research on the insurance industry.
Towers Watson lists a headquarters address at 875 Third Ave. in New York City, where Watson Wyatt had an office. After announcing merger plans last summer, the companies had indicated the combined headquarters would likely be situated between New York City and the Washington D.C. area, where Watson Wyatt had been based in Arlington, Va.
In Stamford, Towers Watson has offices in One Stamford Plaza, which has an address of 263 Tresser Blvd., and at Four Landmark Square.
Towers Perrin has already initiated the process of consolidating some offices and functions, according to Crain”™s, which noted the company is combining separate offices in Southfield, Mich.
Separately, Towers Perrin”™s former health practice Managing Director David Guilmette was hired by Cigna Corp. to lead its national portfolio, based at the company”™s offices in Bloomfield.
Towers Watson”™s shares are listed under the ticker symbol “TW” on both the New York Stock Exchange and the Nasdaq.
