Pitney Bowes Inc. hired a McKinsey & Co. consultant as its chief strategy and innovation officer, replacing David Dobson who was promoted last year to president of Pitney Bowes Management Services.
Joseph Timko is now responsible for leading the development of the strategy and long-term priorities of Pitney Bowes, which with some 3,000 employees in Fairfield County is among the area”™s largest employers. Pitney Bowes recently revealed a strategic restructuring program that will result in 250 local jobs being eliminated, of some 3,000 companywide.
At McKinsey, Timko was a partner in the technology, telecommunications and industrial practice groups. Before that, he worked 14 years at AT&T Bell Laboratories and Lucent Technologies.
Dobson was named head of Pitney Bowes Management Services last August, replacing Vincent De Palma who is now CEO of Shred-It. Before joining the company in 2008, Dobson had been CEO of Corel Corp.
