Comet USA, a supplier of systems and components based on X-ray, radio frequency and electron-beam technologies for manufacturing, hosted an innovation day and grand opening of its new electron-beam laboratory at its 100 Trap Falls Road facility in Shelton recently. The company is based in Flamatt, Switzerland.
The opening event was organized with the Greater Valley Chamber of Commerce and sponsored by Webster Bank and the New Haven Manufacturers Association. The day featured an introduction of Comet”™s in-line electron-beam technology for industrial applications as well as a tour of lab capabilities that can be leveraged in the future for customer projects, Comet reported.
Comet promotes the benefits of electron-beam technology in providing “a chemical-free inline manufacturing technology that will create new materials, save energy by 50 percent to 80 percent, accelerate throughputs and eliminate toxic chemicals.”
The Comet Group last year had sales of $303 million, reflecting a sales growth of 15.3 percent. Shelton-based principals include Jeremy Simon, general manager; Michael Bielmann, business development manager; and Michael Fletcher, technical director.
