Stepping Stones Museum for Children in Norwalk is making visiting the museum easier for low-income families through a new program to reduce admissions fees.
As of April 1, museum visitors presenting an Electronic Benefits Transfer card and a valid form of photo ID will receive admission to Stepping Stones for the minimal fee of $3 per person for up to eight guests. Regular admission to the museum is $15 per person.
The increased access was made possible through a partnership between Stepping Stones and the Museums for All initiative, a program of the Association of Children”™s Museums and the Institute of Museum and Library Services to encourage families of all backgrounds to visit museums regularly and build lifelong museum habits.
“We are very proud to participate in Museums for All,” said Rhonda Kiest, president and CEO of Stepping Stones. “From Day 1, Stepping Stones has been committed to providing all children, families and schools throughout our region with access to quality educational opportunities.”
