On Feb. 28, the Stamford Innovation Center will host a “Smart in the Suburbs” business and technology discussion.
Executives from Sikorsky Innovations, Pitney Bowes and Life in Mobile will open the event with TEDtalk-style presentations, followed by a panel discussion on partnership opportunities for technical and business communities to work together.
The event will be co-hosted by Westfair Communications, which publishes the Fairfield County Business Journal.
The Innovation Center primarily focuses on the high-tech startup community, however, officials say the aim of the event is to celebrate the region’s history of innovation.
“While we are excited about our future as a startup community, we want to celebrate our heritage as a region creating breakthrough solutions to significant business challenges,” said Peter Propp, marketing chief at the center, in a written statement. “We believe Smart in the Suburbs puts the successes of our region in perspective.”
Speakers include Laurence Vigeant-Langlois, director of business development and technology partnerships at Sikorsky Innovations; Bernie Gracy, vice president of strategy for digital commerce solutions at Pitney Bowes; and John Lim, CEO of Life in Mobile.
Tickets are $15. The event will be held from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. at 175 Atlantic St. in Stamford.
