Democrat Johnathan Jacobson announced on May 2 his plans to run for Connecticut State Representative for District 148.
Currently held by first term Democratic Representative Anabel Figueroa, the district includes Stamford’s eastern Glenbrook neighborhood and theoretically includes all land south of Shippan Point out to the sea border with New York.
Currently, Jacobson is a member of the Stamford Board of Representatives for District 12, a role he has held since 2016. He has made environmental issues a key concern, pushing for initiatives such as plastic bans and environmental justice matters.
“I am excited to announce my candidacy for State Representative and to potentially have the opportunity to serve the people of the 148th District,” Jacobson said in an announcement. “Elected officials should be held to the highest level of ethical standards, and I am committed to live up to that expectation while addressing the issues that matter most to our residents, including costs of living, affordable housing, public safety, and reproductive freedom.”
