Zekenzoe Enterprises has acquired Southport”™s BoxCar, with plans to reopen as the Kicking Horse Grill.
The bar had 15 minutes of fame shortly after opening in 2004, when Rolling Stones guitarist Keith Richards jumped onstage for an impromptu jam session with blues guitarists performing that evening.
The new owners say Kicking Horse Grill will serve gourmet Southern “comfort food” and operate a sports bar.
The company did not disclose terms of the deal, which was negotiated by Weichert Capital Properties.
