Shelton-based iMedX Inc. has made another acquisition, this time a medical transcription company with a presence in India.
In San Antonio, Texas-based Worldtech Inc., iMedX gains a company with 800 physician office clients in the U.S. The companies did not disclose financial terms of the deal.
It was the second acquisition this summer for iMedX, after it received a $14 million funding commitment earlier this summer from New Canaan-based RFE Investment Partners. In July, iMedX announced it had bought out Orlando, Fla.-based Medware Inc., which also provides doctors”™ transcription services.
Venkat Sharma is CEO of iMedX, a former software developer for IBM Corp. and 3M who later founded Acorn Information Services Inc., which provided database marketing and technology for the pharmaceutical industry.
