The deadline to apply for Hurricane Sandy disaster aid has been extended to from Dec. 31 to Jan. 28, 2013.
“With more than $20 million in federal aid approved already, there is clearly a need for many residents for assistance,” said Gov. Dannel P. Malloy in a press release. “Extending this deadline will ensure that any resident or business affected by Storm Sandy has ample time to apply for assistance.”
As of Dec. 23, roughly 11,400 Connecticut residents have registered for aid from the Federal Emergency Management Agency and nearly 1,800 businesses have requested a disaster loan from the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA). More than $11.6 million in personal and business SBA disaster loans have been approved.
