Former Connecticut transportation Commissioner Joseph Marie reportedly was forced out by Gov. M. Jodi Rell over unspecified allegations of improper conduct toward a Department of Transportation employee.
Rell disclosed additional details of Marie”™s departure at a ribbon cutting ceremony at Camp Hartell in Windsor Locks, according to multiple reports. Her office also made public a separation agreement in which Marie waived his right to sue the state.
The Connecticut Mirror and the Stamford Advocate reported the reason for the alleged ouster was still in the realm of unspecified allegations.
The governor”™s office provided no specifics on the reasons for his departure and originally had said it was Marie”™s desire to pursue long-term employment opportunities and spend more time with his family.
