Inline Plastics Corp. reportedly plans to cut 30 jobs at its Shelton headquarters as part of a Southeast expansion.
The company makes plastic food packaging for use by supermarkets, including party platters and containers for fresh fruit and cakes. Inline”™s annual sales at last report were $65 million, according to Plastics News, an industry trade publication.
Inline plans to create a 160,000-square-foot warehouse and manufacturing plant in McDonough, Ga., that will employ at least 100 workers, according to Plastics News.
As part of that expansion, Inline plans to cut 20 jobs in Shelton, while offering 10 more workers the opportunity to relocate to McDonough, which is 30 miles southeast of Georgia.
“Inline has historically enjoyed steady growth in the Southeastern states,” said Tom Orkisz, president of Inline, as quoted by Plastics News. “Now we are demonstrating our commitment to that region.”
Inline plans to invest $3.5 million to convert a former Ford Motor Co. assembly building into a warehouse and manufacturing line.
Inline also has facilities in Milford and Salt Lake City.
