Health Net of the Northeast Inc. reportedly cut 60 jobs in Shelton, as the company consolidates its operations with that of Trumbull-based Oxford Health.
California-based Health Net sold its Northeast operations last year to Oxford parent United Healthcare of Minnetonka, Minn.
Health Net workers losing their jobs will receive assistance in part from a federal grant secured to assist finance and insurance industry workers who lost their jobs in the wake of the credit crisis, according to the Danbury News Times which cited The Workplace Inc., a workforce investment board based in Bridgeport.
