Shelton-based William Raveis Real Estate, Mortgage & Insurance closed 2013 with record high numbers for the company.
Raveis announced total annual real estate sales of $7.6 billion, with a total of 16,382 units sold.
The mortgage division reported $840 million in loan production for the year, an unspecified increase over 2012.
With the start of 2014, Raveis also celebrates its 40th anniversary.
In 1974, William Raveis, chairman and CEO, started the company as Yankee Real Estate in an office above a grocery store in Fairfield. Since then, the company has grown to include 3,000 sales professionals in more than 95 company-owned and affiliate offices in Connecticut, Massachusetts, New York, Rhode Island, New Hampshire and Maine.
“As we reflect on what a great growth year 2013 was, it”™s important to recognize that these types of numbers wouldn”™t have been possible without the hard work and dedication of our employees,” Raveis said.
At the end of 2013, the company announced plans to relocate its corporate headquarters to a 44,000-square-foot space at 2 Research Drive in Shelton, which includes 39,000 square feet of office space and a 5,000-square-foot interior garden. The company”™s current headquarters, at 7 Trap Falls Road, is half that size, 22,000 square feet. The company plans to move within the next 18 to 24 months, following the Research Drive property”™s reconstruction.
Besides raising $1.6 million for charity across the years, the company”™s charitable fund raised $170,000 last year to help families following the Sandy Hook massacre.
