Pricewaterhouse Coopers L.L.P. (PwC), with a Stamford presence at 300 Atlantic St., announced April 3 the successful completion of what it termed its “combination” with Booz & Co., a century-old and well-known New York City-based advisory firm that will now be called Strategy&.
PwC operates in 157 countries directly or through affiliates.
“All closing conditions for the deal have been met,” PwC said in a statement.
Booz & Co. has an unspecified grace period ”“ described as “small” ”“ to continue to use its Booz moniker. After that time, Strategy& will be the locked-in name. The website already reflects the changed name, with a brief “formerly” notation referencing Booz.
Dennis Nally, chairman of PwC International, said, “Today signifies an important step for PwC, our clients and stakeholders. Businesses are navigating unprecedented, disruptive threats, and organizations increasingly want the right strategy and the ability to execute it. Together, PwC and Strategy& meet this need.” He foresees “superior value to our clients and stakeholders, attracting premium talent and helping businesses around the world build their capabilities on a global scale.”
