Priceline.com and United Airlines representatives announced March 21 plans to continue developing their direct-connect technology platform.
Earlier this year users started booking tickets through the United Technology Application and soon the companies hope to offer more ancillary products and services through the platform.
The software partnership marks a reduced reliance on third-party, global ticketing distribution systems, meaning customers will be able to directly purchase from the combined team.
Priceline.com, headquartered in Norwalk, is a global leader in hotel reservations and travel bookings, through its primary websites booking.com, priceline.com, Agoda.com and rentalcars.com.
