Danbury-based industrial gases company Praxair Inc. has started serving the oxygen needs of Nadir Figueiredo S/A, a Brazil-based housewares manufacturer, with Sao Paulo-produced gas, the company reported.
“Praxair”™s oxygen is a major driver of Nadir Figueiredo S/A”™s production process and is being used to help the company manufacture its popular housewares, as well as specialized food and drink packaging,” Praxair said in a statement.
The Brazilian plants are in Sao Paulo state and produce a combined capacity in excess of 100 tons per day of gaseous oxygen. The company said the Nadir Figueiredo deal involves “multiple plants.”
The oxygen is used in glass furnaces and, according to Praxair, “results in enhanced combustion, improved efficiency in the manufacturing process, as well as reduced nitrogen oxide emissions enabling customers to increase productivity and improve their environmental performance.”
Praxair previously supplied Nadir Figueiredo S/A with liquid oxygen for manufacturing. Some of this liquid product will now go to gas customers across southeastern Brazil, where Praxair supplies a variety of sectors that include food and beverage, chemical and petrochemical, health care, metal fabrication and automotive.
