As it readies to roll out a new platform for online bill payments and customer communications, Pitney Bowes Inc. is forming a new e-commerce business group to ease cross-border purchasing and shipping.
Pitney Bowes has already been working with eBay to improve shipping to some overseas nations, with the goal of making sellers more confident in accepting orders that must be shipped overseas.
Stamford-based Pitney Bowes appointed Craig Reed as vice president of global e-ecommerce to lead its in-house effort, with Reed having previously worked with Borderfree Ltd., which helped U.S. companies like Cabela”™s and Eddie Bauer sell in Canada.
Pitney Bowes is expected to shortly announce the debut of its Volly digital platform allowing consumers to pay bills, view catalogs and coupons, and other forms of customer communication.
