New York and Connecticut will receive a total of more than $1 million in federal funding through an award program to help small businesses join the international marketplace.
New York will receive $664,000 and Connecticut has been awarded $350,000 as part of the State Trade and Export Promotion program through the United States Small Business Administration.
This year marks the fourth round of awards since the program started in 2011. It was authorized in 2010Â through the Small Business Jobs Act . In general, participating states are expected to match 25 percent of the funding and the federal government provides 75 percent.
The federal agency did not immediately make available the match amount that each of this year”™s award recipients are providing.
The money is overseen and provided “at the local level by state government organizations,” according to the program”™s website, and should be used to support foreign trade efforts including international marketing trips, campaigns and expenses, exhibits and training.

Just a tinsy bit of information would be great such as the program’s website? Where to go to explore the opportunity… etc. Best regards, Joe
