Nordic Fish Market will hold a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 1499 Post Road in Fairfield on May 15 at 3 p.m. First Selectman Mike Tetreau will officiate at the ceremony.
Born in Norway, co-owner Jardar Nygaard has been in the seafood industry since the age of 16. He is currently a partner of Stella Mar Oyster Co. in Cos Cob. From 2001 to 2012, he was the sole owner of Fjord Fisheries, a company started by his family in 1990, in Greenwich.
Co-owner Frank Lanzo is a U.S. Coast Guard-licensed captain who owned and operated the fishing charter boat “Judith Lynn,” fishing out of Norwalk for 17 years. He has also worked as a professional chef with formal culinary training, and has worked on boats for several commercial fisheries.
