MERIDEN – The Connecticut Bar Association has named the founder of a New York City legal services organization as its new executive director.
Lina Lee of New Canaan took over as of Jan. 2, 2025, according to a statement from the CBA. Lina brings extensive leadership experience, a strong commitment to justice, and a proven track record of innovation, positioning her to guide the CBA into its 150th anniversary year.
Lee is the founder and former executive director of Communities Resist, a New York City-based legal services organization that served more than 4,000 community members and managed a $6 million budget.
She has earned numerous accolades, including recognition in the Nonprofit 40 Under 40, Nonprofit Power 100, and Asian American Pacific Islander Power Players lists. Lina earned her Bachelor of Science from Cornell University and her Juris Doctor from Boston University School of Law.

Her impressive achievements demonstrate her readiness to lead our organization and enhance the vital support we provide to members and the Connecticut legal community,” said CBA President James T. Lina expressed her excitement to joining the CBA.
