NBCUniversal’s Stamford studio recently cancelled the “Trisha Goddard” show. Low TV ratings took the daytime talk show series off the air, resulting in 32 layoffs, according to Greenwich Time. An NBCUniversal spokesperson was unavailable for comment.
Patricia “Trisha” Goddard, a London-born and Tanzania-educated married mother of two teenage daughters, has been a guest conflict-resolution expert on “Maury” and served as a guest host of the talk show several times. She had an extensive career as a talk show host in Australia and the United Kingdom, according to Goddard’s website.
Goddard’s show, which was introduced in September 2012, lasted two seasons but never caught on with viewers like the Stamford-produced “Jerry Springer” and “Steve Wilkos” shows, according to the report.
The one-hour show averaged a 0.6 household rating, or about 762,000 viewers a day, through early April, Greenwich Time reported.
NBCUniversal will continue to employ approximately 270 people in Stamford, the report stated.
