Thomas Sullivan is resigning as commissioner of the Connecticut Insurance Department as of Nov. 12.
Sullivan plans to join PricewaterhouseCoopers, according to the Hartford Courant, which posted a resignation letter from Sullivan to Gov. M. Jodi Rell that included a pledge he would not use any confidential information he obtained while commissioner for financial gain. Sullivan”™s resignation was first reported by the Connecticut Mirror.
Rell appointed Sullivan as Connecticut”™s 30th insurance commissioner in April 2007. Previously, he was an executive in Specialty Risk Services L.L.C., a subsidiary of The Hartford Financial Services Group Inc. He is a graduate of Western Connecticut State University in Danbury.
