
TRUMBULL – German-based consumer brands and adhesives manufacturer Henkel Corp. continues to expand its presence in town with the $4.9 million purchase of 9 Trefoil Drive, according to property records.
On Dec. 4 Henkel closed on its acquisition of the property located next to its R&D and tech facilities at 4 and 30 Trefoil Drive, respectively. The maker of such brands as Snuggles, Persil, all, Dial, Sun Products, Loctite and Bonderite purchased the property from Best Buddies LLC.
The 9 Trefoil Drive property currently houses such companies as SCS Direct, Wholesale Computer Exchange and Greenspan Realty. The company has its North American consumer goods headquarters in Stamford and its adhesive technologies headquarters in Rocky Hill. SCS Direct Inc., founded in 1998, serves a diversified customer base through brick and mortar, online retail and unique product development. Its focus on innovative product development led to the expansion from collectibles to an online retail store.
According to published reports, Henkel plans on expanding its consumer goods space at 9 Trefoil Drive with the recent purchase. Henkel’s presence in Trumbull started with the acquisition of Sun Products in 2016. Sun Products had been located in Trumbull since 2009. Henkel expanded at 30 Trefoil Drive in 2018 by adding a large renovated building for R&D for their beauty, laundry, and home care innovation.
The two-story commercial office building at 9 Trefoil Drive was last appraised by the Town of Trumbull for $3.67 million in 2024. It has 42,750 square feet of space.
