The Connecticut Health Council”™s “The Patient is the Future” event is June 25, 7:30 to 9:30 a.m., at The Norwalk Inn & Conference Center, 99 East Ave. in Norwalk.
The Connecticut Health Council is an association of health sector executives working “to promote Connecticut as a premier center for the development of businesses, initiatives and technology that improve health care and wellness both nationally and in the state.” It represents health-related organizations from across the state.
The keynote speaker is Fairfield resident Randi Redmond Oster, whose son was diagnosed with Crohn”™s disease and who will share her story of navigating the health care universe to help him.
Redmond Oster is now a patient care reform advocate and author of “Questioning Protocol: An Empowering Toolkit and Personal Memoir.”
Following Redmond Oster”™s remarks, a panel of experts will discuss the issue of patient care. They include: Dr. Ryan O”™Connell, vice president of performance and risk management at Bridgeport Hospital and president of the Greater Bridgeport Medical Association; Dr. Daniel Gottschall, chief medical officer for Women”™s Health USA and chairman of the board, St. Vincent”™s Health Services, and vice chairman of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, St. Vincent”™s Medical Center; and Dr. Peter Bowers, chief medical officer, Anthem BlueCross and BlueShield.
