Close-to-regular service has resumed on Metro-North Hudson, New Haven and Harlem Lines.
The Hudson Line, which was badly hit, is now running between Grand Central Station and Croton-Harmon. However, it is not running between Croton-Harmon and Poughkeepsie.
Service between New Haven and Grand Central Station is also restored on the New Haven Line, but trains will not be stopping at New Canaan, Danbury and Waterbury stations.
The Harlem Line is fully restored between Grand Central Station and Southeast. West-of-Hudson services operated by NJ Transit remain suspended.
Announcing the Metro-North schedules, Connecticut Gov. Dannel P. Malloy thanked transit workers for the rapid recovery.
“Given the damage and disruption we sustained up and down the line as result of this storm, a return to full main line service in a matter of a few days is remarkable,” Malloy said in a statement. “Metro-North workers were deployed immediately and have been working around the clock to return us to 100 percent service on the line between New Haven and New York. This is great news for commuters.”
Metro-North trains, subways and buses are free Nov. 2, and Metro-North October monthly passes are valid until Nov. 5.
Subway service has been extended from 42nd Street to 34th Street Nov. 2, and buses downtown are available at the intersections of 42nd Street and Fifth, Second and Lexington avenues.
