GREENWICH – Yale New Haven Health’s Greenwich Hospital marked the opening of its expanded urology suite Tuesday, Oct. 7.
The renovated space at 55 Holly Hill Lane enhances access to specialized urologic care and complements the growing number of medical services offered at this location. That includes blood draw, fertility, gynecologic oncology, ophthalmology, otolaryngology (ENT) and audiology, podiatry and surgery.
The expansion will allow for advanced treatment such as HoLEP for enlarged prostate and focal therapy for prostate cancer. Led by Yale New Haven Health and the Yale Medicine Urology team, this expansion includes access to robotic surgery and multidisciplinary care for urologic cancers, making advanced urology care more accessible to patients in Fairfield and Westchester counties.
“Tonight, we recognize more than just an investment in physical renovations; we celebrate expanded access to innovative treatment options and expert specialists from Yale Medicine,” said Blenderman. “I am excited to watch the positive impact this expansion and the advancements in patient care will have on our community.”
The expanded urology suite brings together a full complement of Yale Medicine urologists in a modern, centralized space.
“With our renovated office space, we have a central hub to see all the patients and have all the physicians here at one time,” said Dr. Karellas. “Our new physicians are well-trained and have additional skill sets to develop HoLEP, which is an advanced laser procedure for prostate enlargement. And our oncology practice is building as well, with Dr. Brian Shinder leading efforts to expand care for patients with urologic cancers.”
Dr. Kim emphasized that the project reflects Yale New Haven Health’s commitment to bringing high-quality specialty care directly to local patients.
“For all of us within the Yale New Haven Health System, having a presence in Greenwich has really been a critical priority,” Dr. Kim added. “This facility reinforces the commitment of our leadership to ensure patients in Greenwich receive the same quality of care that Yale Medicine aspires to – without having to travel to New Haven.”
