GE Capital has begun hiring 300 people in downtown New Orleans for a new software center, its fourth major information technology hub to open of late along with sites in Detroit, San Ramon, Calif., and Richmond, Va.
GE Capital has signed a lease for 60,000 square feet of space in Place St. Charles, New Orleans”™ second tallest skyscraper at 53 stories.
The General Electric Co. subsidiary is based in Norwalk and is among the largest employers in Fairfield County. GE Capital currently lists 80 open jobs in Norwalk and Stamford.
In separate GE news, the company reported positive, preliminary results from phase 3 clinical studies of an imaging agent that could help detect protein deposits in the brain, an important step toward more accurately diagnosing Alzheimer”™s disease.
