The Business Council of Fairfield County will host its 44th annual Members”™ Luncheon at noon to 1:45 p.m. June 30 at the Stamford Marriott Hotel & Spa.
The keynote speaker will be Maggie Wilderotter, chairwoman and CEO of Stamford-based Frontier Communications since January 2006. She joined the company in November 2004 as president and CEO and as a member of the board of directors.
Wilderotter was previously senior vice president of Worldwide Public Sector at Microsoft; president and CEO of Wink Communications Inc., leading efforts to develop e-commerce systems; executive vice president of national operations for AT&T Wireless Services Inc.; CEO of AT&T’s Aviation Communications Division; and senior vice president of McCaw Cellular Communications Inc.
Wilderotter serves on the boards of Fairfield County-based Xerox Corp., Procter & Gamble Co. and a number of nonprofits. Since 2009, Fortune magazine has included her in its ranking of the “50 Most Powerful Women in Business.”
In October 2012, Wilderotter was designated chairwoman of the President’s National Security Telecommunications Advisory Committee after serving as vice chairwoman from 2010 to 2012.
In December 2012, she was named a member of the executive committee of the Business Roundtable, a national association of CEOs. She is also secretary of the board of directors of Catalyst, a national nonprofit that seeks to advance women in positions of leadership. In May 2014, she became co-chairwoman of The Committee for Economic Development, a nonprofit, nonpartisan, business-led, public-policy organization.
Wilderotter holds a bachelor’s degree in economics from Holy Cross College in Massachusetts.
