Friday nights in Norwalk during July and August (except July 4) for the third consecutive year will feature evening cruises and dinner owing to a partnership between the Norwalk Seaport Association, Mama”™s Boy Southern Table & Refuge restaurant and the Norwalk Parking Authority.
The outings incorporate a cruise around the Norwalk Islands followed by dinner at Mama”™s Boy. There is parking at the Maritime Garage, which has established a special $2 rate for cruise participants.
The $57 cruise package includes a Norwalk Harbor sunset cruise with the Norwalk Seaport Association”™s CJ Toth ferry, leaving from Sheffield Island Dock (the corner of Water Street and Washington Street) at 6 p.m. and returning at 8. Guests then walk one block to Mama”™s Boy, a gourmet Southern food restaurant and bar at 19 N. Water St., for a three-course meal.
Cruise and Cuisine Fridays run through Aug. 29.
The Norwalk Seaport Association owns and maintains Sheffield Island Lighthouse and is the official U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service Friends group for the Norwalk Islands. It offers special events and community projects, including lighthouse tours, boat cruises and the storied Norwalk Seaport Association Oyster Festival in September, this year featuring Joan Jett and the Blackhearts as a main-stage headliner.
