With the sold-out “ultimate wine evening” at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 4, the Greenwich 2012 Food+Wine Festival kicks off running through Saturday, featuring chefs from across Fairfield County and Westchester County, N.Y., and a performance by The Gregg Allman Band.
The event is being organized by Serendipity magazine, with tickets $95 for the main event on Saturday. All festival proceeds will benefit the Hole in the Wall Gang Camp.
On Saturday at noon in Roger Sherman Baldwin Park on Arch St., a “culinary village” opens with more than 90 food, wine and spirits venues participating, along with chef and sommelier demonstrations, a beer garden, a “burger battle,” and barbecue. The Gregg Allman Band is scheduled to perform at 8:30 p.m.
