Banchet Flowers of Manhattan has signed a lease on 10,000 square feet at 1 Barry Place in the former industrial section of Stamford.
Banchet plans for the industrial floral design center to service off-premises corporate and private clientele in Fairfield and Westchester counties.
The Stamford space will also incorporate the company”™s unique Banchet Flower Bar event space. The design, which was established in the Banchet”™s New York City trendy Meatpacking District location, is a small, fully decorated “experience space” with over $10,000 worth of seasonal floral designs and orchid displays at one time.
Banchet is owned by Banchet Jaigla, a Thailand native who moved to New York at a young age.
Jaigla describes the Flower Bar as “an ever-evolving, multi-faceted retail living space.”
The space has an occupancy of 125 and is decorated with vases and sculptures. It features an enormous, custom-designed glass-paneled cooler filled with flowers from New Zealand, Holland and South America.
According to Jaigla, customers will be able to indulge in champagnes and teas while surrounded by a floral environment, showcasing Banchet”™s selection of “lifestyle objects.” Jaigla also plans to make the space available to be used for private events.
“We look forward to the opportunity to deliver our elegant flowers at events, businesses and private estates in Fairfield and Westchester counties,” said Jaigla. “Our new on-site Banchet Flower Bar in Stamford will duplicate our award-winning design in New York City, which mystically transforms any small ceremony, event or party into the most memorable occasion.”
Jaigla also has plans to use her new space to teach floral design, flower care and arrangement during the summer months.
Banchet”™s new building will be located in the same building as The Loading Dock, an industrial event space, also new to the area. The Loading Dock”™s owner, Mimi Sternlicht, has worked with Banchet Flowers and she has been a friend to Jaigla for 15 years and looks forward to the advantages of a neighborly relationship.
Sternlicht says that she may utilize Banchet”™s Flower Bar for wedding-parties when hosting receptions while Banchet will the Loading Dock”™s primary floral consultant.
“I”™m thrilled to have Banchet moving in next door,” said Sternlicht. “In fact, Banchet will be designing The Loading Dock’s debut event, called ”˜Taste and Style”™ on Feb. 22 for Kids in Crisis.”
Banchet”™s business will focus on events, weddings, weekly corporate and private estate arrangements. According to Jaigla, the company often designs floral arrangements for corporate lobbies and is experienced in adding floral arrangements to the office setting.
The florist has created a specialized capability for shipping arrangements anywhere overnight with confidence. The trademarked “Banchet Fresh” shipping design incorporates a custom box and insert that protects delicate parts. Jaigla says a crucial part of the equation is providing the perfect amount of moisture, food and vitamins to keep arrangements healthy during shipment.
The shop is scheduled to be in full operation by April.
