FitLinxx has acquired FitSense Technology Inc., a Southborough, Mass., company whose systems are used to monitor people”™s heart rates, blood sugar levels and other vital signs.
Health club patrons use FitLinxx”™s system to track their progress on gym equipment. Since its launch, the Norwalk company has raised $132 million in venture capital funding.
FitSense was founded by Tom Blackadar, a network engineer formerly with BBN Technologies Inc., the Cambridge, Mass., company that invented the Internet router.
FitSense”™s head of sales is Bill Flutie, the brother of former NFL quarterback and Heisman Trophy winner Doug Flutie.
