Some Connecticut commuters dug themselves out of nearly 3 feet of snow to get to work today after the weekend’s snowstorm.
In Fairfield County, the town of Fairfield saw the most snow, with nearly 35 inches, according to unofficial observations by the National Weather Service. Ridgefield saw the least amount of snow, with 12 inches.
As of 10:30 a.m. on Monday, less than 1 percent of customers were without power in the state, according to outage maps by United Illuminating Co. and Connecticut Light & Power.
Metro-North rail service resumed Monday with limited service on the New Haven Line. Peak service between Grand Central Station and Stamford is limited and crews are still working to uncover snow-laden tracks and lines in New Haven and Bridgeport.
