Fairfield Museum celebrates 375th birthday
Fairfield Museum”™s 375th birthday party kicks off Oct. 25, 7 p.m., 370 Beach Road, with cocktails, hors d”™oeuvres, live music, a live auction and and an illusionist. The celebration will feature a four-course “Dinner by the Bite” presented by OnTheMarc. The party, supported by sponsors J.P. Morgan, Chase and Brody Wilkinson P.C., is the Fairfield Museum and History”™s fundraising event of the year. Annually, more than 5,500 children and adults participate in the museum”™s programs. Additional support comes from Knight Rolleri Sheppard, Orthopedic Specialists Group P.C. and Pascale Communications.

The American Humane Association recently enhanced its emergency response vehicles to provide field rescue, investigative support, shelter, comfort, veterinary care and food during disasters or cruelty. The association”™s 50-foot vehicle and members of its national team will be at Adopt a Dog”™s Puttin”™ on the Dog Festival at Roger Sherman Baldwin Park, Arch St., Greenwich, Sept. 21, 10 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Tickets are available at the gate or online at adoptadog.org.

BlumShapiro honored as top-performing partner

Sacred Heart University film festival
Stamford Sacred Heart University”™s film and television master”™s program hosts its first film festival Sept. 25-28. Free to the public, the festival will feature screenings, master classes, workshops and parties. The Opening Nights Awards Gala is at the Avon Theater in downtown Stamford, where screenwriter Anthony Tambakis will be honored along with student filmmakers.
The festival will offer screenings and discussions with filmmakers Allen Coulter (director, “Boardwalk Empire,” “Sopranos,” “Sex and the City,” “House of Cards,” “Sons of Anarchy”); Emily Wachtel (screenwriter, “Lucky Them”); SHU professor Sidney Gottlieb (editor, “Hitchcock on Hitchcock”); and Tambakis. The festival will conclude with a 30-year-anniversary screening of “Amadeus” with producer Michael Hausman and Tom Hulce, who played Mozart in the film.

Owens named co-president of Fifth Street
Fifth Street Management L.L.C. recently named Todd G. Owens co-president and member of the management committee, effective Sept. 29. Cultural Alliance unveils ‘In the Windows’

Cadovius appointed to AAIDD
Nicole Cadovius, director of Connecticut Residential Services for the Ability Beyond Bethel office, was recently appointed vice president for the gerontology division of the American Association on Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities.
Cadovius has more than 20 years of experience in her field. As vice president, she will coordinate an aging symposium for the association”™s 139th annual meeting in Kentucky, among other duties. She has been involved with the association for more than seven years, currently serving the second half of her term as president for its Connecticut Chapter.
